Nurse’s Day

Today all the cupcakes go out to the nurses of the world!

School nurses, hospital nurses, clinical nurses, where would we be without them?  Sick, probably.  Dead, maybe.  Worse off, certainly.

They see us at our absolute worst.  I mean, seriously.  In service to their fellow man, they have chosen a profession where they see people at their worst . . . all day, every day.  We get better and go home.  They stay and see others in equally dismal health.  What a gig.

Besides Florence Nightingale, other famous nurses in history include Mary Todd Lincoln (Mrs. President Lincoln, if you’re nasty) and poet Walt Whitman.

Like a good mechanic, or a good plumber, a good nurse is priceless and the subject of lots of great quotes.  Here are a few favorites (thanks to quotegarden.com).
